What kind of modeling experience do you have?

Molly: I’ve done hundreds of photo shoots, from the cheesiest of cheesecake to high concept art and fetish. Plus, promo modeling, go-go dancing, twirling my tassels in burlesque shows, sitting for paintings, painting myself white as a human statue, and all sorts of other adventures in nakedness.

How did you get into modeling in the first place?

Molly: In art school, I had to spend 15 hours a week drawing from the model. Being broke, I finally realized that the failed actors on the models’ stand were getting paid. From artist’s modeling, it was a short leap to photography. However, I only started getting serious when an acquaintance photographed me for Suicidegirls.com

Did you ever think you would be modeling before you actually got into it?

Molly: As a short chick with a big ass, no. But, as soon as I found there was lucre to be made, I changed my mind

Do you want to continue to do this professionally, or is just a side job for now? If its just temporary, what would you like to do professionally?

Molly: Modeling is a short-lived profession. As you age, less and less people want to see you naked. I’d like to keep modeling for the next few years. However, my true love is my illustration. You can check that out at mollycrabapple.com

How did you get into retro/fetish modeling?

Molly: Suicidegirls.com and the typical goth-girl love of Dita von Teeze taught me that modeling could be alternative. Retro Victoriana was a natural choice. Look at my illustrations! I’ve got curves and dig corsets. I fell in love with fetish because it was so imaginative. There, in the photo, was the body transformed like a doodle on the margins of my sketchbook. Fetish at its best has all the rigor of a fashion shoot with the sexiness and crazy imagination of a Dali painting.

What was your favorite photo shoot and why?

Molly: I’ve had a few favorite photographers, but the best shoot I ever did was with Aaron Hawks in San Francisco. This madman built an entire set the size of a room. It looked like a decaying 19th century hotel room. Plus, Aaron shoots film, which in this age of digital hackdom, always impresses me. Some other favorite photographers are Burke Heffner of DangerDame.com, Marco Patino of Lowrider Magazine, and Brian Bothwell.

Is there any type of modeling you would like to try that you haven’t already?

Molly: I love bizarre but well done beauty shots. I’d love to collaborate with an incredible makeup artist and get more of these.

What type of impression would you like to make on the readers of The Noyse?

Molly: The sort that makes them buy prints off my website. That’s mollycrabapple.net, folks!

What’s one thing that people would be surprised to learn about you?

Molly: I eat honey straight from the bottle and can quote the first book of the Koran.

Any other comments?

Molly: Hard work is the balm of the soul. Bonne Belle makes my favorite lip balm. God save you from day jobs
