ART

When did you really get into art?
I always had my nose buried in a sketchbook as a kid, but I would have to say around the age of ten was when I started wanting to learn more and started taking it seriously. It wasn't until the end of high school that I considered art as a career.

How did you come to the realization that you should try your luck at art on a more serious level?
That came when I realized it was a calling for me and it was the only thing that I really enjoyed doing. When you realize you have a talent and it makes you happy, hell, go for it. So I did.

How did you discover the particular style that you have?
Hmmm. I'd like to think I don't have one particular style, seeing as I jump from abstract fine art to design to illustrations. I like too many things and have too many influences. Yet style is one of those things that you just can't get rid of or escape...it's just a part of you.

How would you describe your style?
I once had someone describe my art prints as "abstractive-pop-modern-surrealistic-ly fun". That works for me.

Who or what influences your art?
Everything, especially the small things.

How often do you create a new piece?
I am almost constantly creating something. "Finished" pieces happen over time. That could span anywhere from days to weeks as a piece develops.

What kind of success have you had with your art?
It keeps me sane. Does that count?

What would be the ultimate goal for you and your art?
I guess my goals are to not let the art world jade me, and hopefully find moderate success, but just enough to make a living without all the hype. Hopefully my art will affect and engage the viewer and leave them questioning. That would be nice.

What do you see as an accomplishment in the way of art?
Art accomplishes its goal if it opens people up to new ideas, and get them to examine what they hold to be true.

What kind of message, if any, do you try to convey through your art?
The message is hidden, put the pieces together and figure it out.

Sum up your art in one word.
Searching.
