ART

Josh Brown

When did you really get into art?
Ive been doodling my entire life. I remember back in high school when I drew all over my left arm as if they were tattoos. I guess art has always been a part of who I am. As for sketching stuff for tattoos, that just started last year when I started seriously considering getting a tattoo.

How did you come to the realization that you should try your luck at art on a more serious level?
When I decided I didnt want just a regular, already done tattoo I wanted something totally original, and done by me with my vision, my flaws and my personality.

How did you discover the particular style that you have?
By accident, I suppose.

How would you describe your style?
How I live life: Not BEAUTIFUL or GREAT, but I try to keep it as clean and non-tacky as possible.

Who or what influences your art?
My poetry has a lot to do with what I draw, for some odd reasons. Other than that, nothing really. Just the crazy voices in my head and the stress in my life.

How often do you create a new piece?
I actually havent drawn anything in a while. Although I did color a picture in a coloring book a couple weeks ago. Does that count?

What kind of success have you had with your art?
Well, out of all the tattoos I have drawn for people, only two have actually made it to the permanent body art part of the journey. Both of which ended up on myself. Go figure

What would be the ultimate goal for you and your art?
To actually draw something that someone else gets tattooed. Actually, to be more specific, I would want the girl I am dating to finally get one, and one that I draw for her. That would be really special, actually.

What do you see as an accomplishment in the way of art?
Other people liking it is always gratifying.

What kind of message, if any, do you try to convey through your art?
This is me. Deal with it.

Sum up your art in one word.
Me.

Any additional comments?
I cant believe I just interviewed myself. This has to be a low point for The Noyse.
