Carl Fletcher
When did you really get into art?
When I was five and my grandmother said "Wow, that looks just like it Carl."
How did you come to the realization that you should try
your luck at art on a more serious level?
I just knew this is what I was put here for. I am very competitive against
myself.
How did you discover the particular style that you have?
I didn't. I just do what I think looks right and weather I have expressed
what I intended to.
How would you describe your style?
Realist. This is the term I finally came to if one has to be placed.
Who or what influences your art?
Music, very much, jazz & blues especially. Other artist who are passionate
make me want to paint better.
How often do you create a new piece?
I'm either doing one, in the middle of one, or finishing one. Maybe 2 a week
airbrushed, 1 a month colored pencil.
What kind of success have you had with your art?
I have been very lucky to work with major chopper companies, musicians,
children with caricatures. It's very rewarding.
What would be the ultimate goal for you and your art?
I reached it in a sense. My family is proud of who I am and what I
contribute to the world and they are proud of me as a person so I'm a success in
any real measure.
What do you see as an accomplishment in the way of art?
Pushing myself, trying challenging subjects or poses. Really liking what I
have finished and believing in it.
What kind of message, if any, do you try to convey
through your art?
Stop, put down the cell phone, look around at your world and your individual
effect on it, and is it better fro you having been there.
Sum up your art in one word.
Real
Any additional comments?
I thank everyone who ever helped me attain my dream, and those who did not as
well, they were the fuel!!!
