When did you really get into art?
I have been an artist since conception.

How did you come to the realization that you should try your luck at art on a more serious level?
There was a time when I was challenged by the basest desires to resign from my craft. It was at this point a dream of death transpired over me. My thoughts were directed to the goal of life and the judgment of it after death. This realization brought me back into my work with a drive accountable only to that which is unreal.

How did you discover the particular style that you have?
My visual style is based on the gesture of the brush.  The discovery took place over time and will continue to evolve. The aggression, layering of paint and subtle forms took a lot of experimentation, freedom and confidence that comes with sheer production.
My subject matter is based in visions and dreams. The irony of individuality and my sacred belief in the human being as a source of light is at the core. Figures and hidden forms represent the stew of the minds memory of past friends, lovers, experiences and events that unfold with or without our control.
The final piece is, in a sense, an open book of forms both real and unreal. The viewer is obliged to place meaning and subject matter into the painted matter.

How would you describe your style?
Abstract based on figurative forms.

Who or what influences your art?
Jean Dubuffet , Gustav Klimt, Max Ernst, Yves Tanguy, Max Beckman, William Kentridge

How often do you create a new piece?
I am in a constant state of creation.

What kind of success have you had with your art?
I have acquired a BFA from the Art Institute of Chicago.  My work has been seen all over the United States and currently hangs in Chicago, Washington DC, Los Angeles and San Diego.

What would be the ultimate goal for you and your art?
Art is not a goal oriented process for me.  The idea of planning and striving for one identified point in the context of an artistic pursuit runs counter to the unknown aspect of art.  Art is a being unto itself.  I am only the delivery mechanism.  I cannot guide what guides me, I can only funnel its energy into representations suitable for its origin.

What do you see as an accomplishment in the way of art?
To create a lasting and immortal visual expression.

What kind of message, if any, do you try to convey through your art?
A source of light is revealed between every moment of concentration and relief.

Sum up your art in one word.
Savage.
